History of Niagara Falls

Welcome to Jellystone Niagara. We are a campground and RV park located just minutes from historic Niagara Falls. The history of Niagara Falls dates back to the last ice age, 18,000 years ago when our area in Southern Ontario was covered with ice. As the ice melted, the great lakes were formed and the movement of water between lakes towards the St. Lawrence River carved through the rock to form the Niagara River which rushes over the Falls to form the spectacle we have today.

The Niagra Falls history is full of daredevils, historic moments, and geological miracles. We have numerous museums dedicated to our geological history as well as the human history of events surrounding the Falls.
